Privacy notice
This notice explains how Marlborough Gulf DMCC handles the personal details you share with us through this website: what we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Marlborough Gulf DMCC, Office 508, HDS Business Centre, Cluster M, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, P O Box 478355, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is licensed by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (licence JLT-68000).
Marlborough Gulf DMCC decides how and why your details are used, and is responsible for them. For any question about this notice or your details, write to privacy@marlboroughgulf.com or use the form on our Contact page.
The laws we follow
As a company in the DMCC free zone, we are subject to the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Where we deal with people in the United Kingdom, we also follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we deal with people in India, we also take account of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. We apply the same standard to everyone, whichever of these laws applies.
What we collect, and why
We collect only what you choose to send us, and the minimum technical information needed to run a secure website.
| When you | We collect | We use it to |
|---|---|---|
| Send an enquiry | Your name, email address, phone number (optional), your message (optional), the page you sent it from, and the time you sent it | Reply to you, and arrange a consultation if you ask for one |
| Email us | Whatever you choose to tell us | Reply to you and handle your request |
| Visit any page | Technical information your browser sends, such as your internet address and device type | Keep the website secure and block automated spam. We don't use it to identify you, and we don't store it with your enquiry. |
When you send the enquiry form, you are asking us to reply, and we use your details as this notice describes.
We don't ask for passports, bank details or other identity documents through this website. If you become a client, we will give you a separate notice covering the identity and due diligence checks UAE law requires.
Our reasons for using your details
- Taking steps you ask for. When you send an enquiry, we use your details to reply to you and, if you ask, to arrange a consultation before any engagement.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and keeping records of our correspondence.
We never sell your details, and we don't use them for advertising.
Who can see your details
- Our team. Members of our staff read enquiries in a private team inbox, each with their own sign-in. They record who is handling your enquiry, how it is progressing, and private notes about it. Those notes are stored with your enquiry and deleted with it.
- Companies that run parts of the website for us, under their standard
data protection terms, and only to provide their service:
- Vercel Inc. hosts the website and runs its security checks. The details you send through a form are handled and stored on its servers in London, United Kingdom. Vercel is a United States company, and delivers the website's pages from servers worldwide.
- Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., a United States company) sends the email that confirms your enquiry, and the email that passes it to our team. They are sent from its servers in Ireland, and it may handle delivery records in the United States.
- Cloudflare Inc. receives emails sent to any @marlboroughgulf.com address and passes them to our business email (United States, with servers worldwide).
- Microsoft runs our business email, where we receive and answer enquiries.
- Others, only with your agreement. If your plan needs a licensed specialist, we share your details with that specialist only after you have agreed.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Sending details outside the UAE
Some of these companies keep or handle details outside the UAE, including in the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States. Each is bound by data protection terms that keep your details secure and limit their use to our instructions. For transfers from the United Kingdom, these use the UK's approved contract terms (the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses) or, for United States companies certified to it, the UK–US data bridge. Use the form on our Contact page to ask for a copy of the terms that apply.
How long we keep your details
| Details | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries, with our team's notes attached | 24 months from when you send them, or sooner if you ask us to delete them |
This period applies to our own records, which are deleted automatically when it ends. Each enquiry is also emailed to our team, and those copies stay in our business mailbox for as long as we need them to deal with you. If you ask us to delete your details, we also delete those copies. Our email sending service keeps its own delivery records for a limited time. If you become a client, we keep client records for as long as UAE law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what details we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct details that are wrong
- delete your details
- stop or limit how we use them
- send your details to you, or to another organisation, in a common format
- stop contacting you
To ask, write to privacy@marlboroughgulf.com or use the form on our Contact page. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you have the right to complain to us. Write to privacy@marlboroughgulf.com or use the form on our Contact page. We will confirm we have received your complaint within 30 days, and tell you what we have done about it. You can also complain to the regulator where you live: in the UAE, the UAE Data Office; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commission (the ICO, ico.org.uk); in India, the Data Protection Board of India.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, so you won't see a cookie banner. If we count visits, we do it in a way that doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you. Our security checks may set a short-lived technical cookie to confirm a visitor is a person and not an automated program; it is strictly necessary and isn't used to track you. One other cookie keeps our own team signed in to the area where we read enquiries, and it is never set for visitors.
How we protect your details
Your details travel over an encrypted connection. They are stored in a private store that only our enquiry system, named members of our team, and the people who run the website for us can reach, and that access is protected by sign-in. Forms are checked automatically to block spam and misuse.
Children
This website and our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your details, we will update this page and the date below.
